01 about
Welcome to Polster Works
We use traditional and modern techniques to upholster your furniture beautifully.
Kate
Polster Works is founded by classically trained upholsterer Kate Keppel-Palmer.
The rural workshop is a hub for the traditional craft of upholstery using tack and hammer techniques and natural materials as much as possible.
In what is often a fast paced, disposable culture, Polster Works is focused on producing sustainable, long lasting and beautiful results.
We are situated between Bath and Bristol.

Re-upholstery
Whether you have an antique sofa, a mid-century chair or even a well loved Ikea classic, we are able to offer a whole range of upholstery solutions to fit your requirements.
Some chairs will just need a re-cover whilst others need to be stripped to the frame. Some people love their chair shape but would prefer a higher seat position or perhaps a firmer back. Other people just want slimmer arms and a firmer bottom!
It's amazing what's possible, so please talk to us about what you would like. Our aim is for your seat to be as comfortable as it is beautiful.
Ottomans and footstools
We make Ottomans and Footstools in a range of sizes and styles, which can be finished with your own choice of top fabric. Please have a look in the shop or call us to commission a bespoke piece.
Unique pieces
Occasionally we meet a piece of furniture at an auction or an antiques fair that is utterly irresistible. We will restore these to their former glory; sometimes to calico or sometimes we have the perfect fabric for it. Have a look in the shop to see what's available.
